Does Steam Help Acne?
Steaming may help to reduce the frequency, severity & duration of acne outbreaks.
a] Heat & moisture increases circulation, helps to remove wastes from blocked pores.
b] Dried skin cells are easier to remove when moistened with steam. Following this apply gentle abrasive (baking soda), to gently exfoliate and remove dried skin cells that can block pores and contribute to acne.
c] Follow steaming and exfoliating with a natural moisturizer that does not contain alcohol, such as coconut oil.

When steaming the skin, do not get too close to the source of the steam or serious burns may result.

Multi-treatment options for Acne
Here are some easy things you can start doing today to help you heal your acne.
1) Apply a honey mask to your face once or twice a week as it has anti-bacterial properties and is also gentle on sensitive skin.
2) Wash the affected area twice with acne soap which is actually a sulphur based product especially after waking up and before going to bed.
3) Keep your long hair off your face as hairs contain oil which may contribute to the breakouts.
4) Taking a potent multi-vitamin helps improve nutrition and thereby, preventing any breakouts.
5) Taking a chromium supplement once a day will help heal your pimples quickly.
6) Eating Vitamin A helps strengthen the protective tissue of the skin and prevent acne. It helps reduce sebum production. It also acts as a powerful anti-oxidant needed to rid your body of toxins.
7) Avoid wearing make-up, but if it is must, be sure it is water-based.
8) Keep your body well hydrated by drinking a good amount of water.
9) Do not pick or squeeze your pimples, as doing any of these actions increases sebum production. Also squeezing ruptures the membrane below the skin, causing the infection to spread deeper resulting in more pimples.
10) Wash your pillow cover/cases every other day as it absorbs the oil from your skin and reapplies the dirt and oil.
11) Eat foods rich in Zinc as it is an anti-bacterial agent.
